Overview
Pi-hole gives the lab a central place to understand and control DNS requests. It is both a useful service and a practical way to study how devices behave when nobody is watching them directly.

DNS is easy to treat as background infrastructure until it fails. Running it directly makes caching, upstream resolution, client configuration, and service dependencies much more concrete.
Where it is going
I am refining allowlists, blocklists, redundancy, alerting, and the relationship between Pi-hole telemetry and the wider monitoring stack.
