Reduce unnecessary traffic, block known unwanted domains, and create a readable history of DNS activity without configuring every device individually.
DNS is easy to treat as background infrastructure until it fails. Running it directly makes caching, upstream resolution, client configuration, and service dependencies much more concrete.
I am refining allowlists, blocklists, redundancy, alerting, and the relationship between Pi-hole telemetry and the wider monitoring stack.
