I’m Luis, founder of AMS-Lab, board-level repair expert, and someone who genuinely cares about every device that crosses my bench. With over a decade of experience and a mindset built on curiosity, integrity, and precision, I specialize in microsoldering, BIOS-level repair, and data recovery on consoles, smartphones, and computers. I’ve completed my bachelor’s degree at TESU and am now pursuing my Master of Science in Computer Science at CU Boulder, combining hands-on expertise with academic depth. My certifications include CompTIA A+, Cisco CyberOps, and Google IT Support, but what truly defines my work is the belief that trust, clear communication, and attention to detail matter just as much as skill. Every repair I take on is a reflection of who I am, not just what I can do.
How It All Began
Before AMS-Lab became what it is today, it was just me, a secondhand microscope, and a passion for figuring things out. I didn’t have a lab, a shop, or even a reliable rework station, just determination, curiosity, and a habit of working late into the night. Those early days shaped the values I still follow today: quality over speed, honesty over hype, and respect for the devices people trust me with.
This was my setup back in 2020, a microscope, a cheap hot air station, and an obsession with getting things right. I spent hours learning what each chip did, how boards failed, and what it took to bring them back. No staff, no shop, just me, some borrowed tools, and a drive to master the craft.
