Proxmox cluster

Clustered virtualization for running, moving, backing up, and recovering the services that make the rest of the lab possible.

Overview

The Proxmox cluster is where compute becomes a flexible resource instead of a collection of individual machines. It supports experimentation while making resilience and recovery part of the design.

01

Core design

Workloads are separated into virtual machines and containers based on isolation, performance, and operational needs. Networking and storage are treated as shared dependencies that must be documented.

02

What failure teaches

A cluster is not automatically resilient. Quorum, storage, backups, networking, and recovery procedures all have to work together. Testing those assumptions is part of the project.

03

Next phase

I am improving backup validation, service placement, monitoring, and automated provisioning so the environment is easier to reproduce and recover.
